Presence & Status

Hi, reader. I wrote this in 2009 and it's now more than five years old. So it may be very out of date; the world, and I, have changed a lot since I wrote it! I'm keeping this up for historical archive purposes, but the me of today may 100% disagree with what I said then. I rarely edit posts after publishing them, but if I do, I usually leave a note in italics to mark the edit and the reason. If this post is particularly offensive or breaches someone's privacy, please contact me.

I learned recently:

Empathy is an IRC client but does not (yet?) support slash-commands. Gobby is a really cool tool to let multiple people read, write, and chat about a document collaboratively from different computers. Kazoos are different from paper-rolly party noisemaker things. Leonard did set up a category for all his blog posts. Absinthe makes the sides of the back of my tongue tingle slightly. Natives don't pronounce the "t" in "Montréal."

I'm half-remembering high school French as I read signs & overhear colleagues' conversations here in Montréal. Je me souviens!
